Upcoming events Watch this space! Matt socialsecretary@exeterkorfball.co.uk The club runs several social events     throughout the year including a     Christmas dinner, an End of Season  awards night, days out, and of     course the legendary pub quizes...    Past events    Christmas Dinner '11  At the City Gate, 3 December --    Pub Quiz Steve (aka the Riddler) and his glamorous assistant Princess tested the club's general ignorance on 13 Nov '10 with a pub quiz at the White Hart. Subjects included entertainment, music and even  baseball, but it was the multiple choice round on Steve's life that was particularly challenging. Before we had got rid of the mental image of Steve as a fairy in his school play, it was drinking up time. 'Them Down There' got the gold stars while 'Hawaii-5-0' came bottom of the class.       Bonfire Party Huw, Sheena & Mac generously hosted another bonfire party at their place on 6 Nov '10 after the Bristol City match. Mulled wine, sparklers, Chinese fire balloons and Mike & Vic on Skype from NZ all ensured a memorable night. For the hardy there was also a 6 mile walk in the Axe Valley on the Sunday followed by warming soup. Excellent.     Club End of Season social 24 April '10 saw us at Bar Rendezvous for the end of season awards, which sadly doubled this year as Tony's leaving do. Seven years' outstanding service to korfball in Exeter was duly recognised by the award of assorted horticultural accessories to help him in the allotment during retirement, while Russell compared the great man to Gandhi, or was that Einstein, or both? Anyway who can argue.      Christmas Dinner '09  At the Living Room, 4 December --     End of Season Awards '09 On 2 May '09 the end of the season was celebrated in traditional fashion with wine and medals at Bar Rendezvous in Southernhay. Matt won everything! Well pretty much... Most valuable male 2nd team, Most improved player and Player's Player. Mel won MV female 1st team, Russell & Alan jointly won MV male 1st team and Anne-Clare won MV female 2nd team. Charlie won ITV Sports Personality of the Year award for scoring on TV, Hazel won the Tom & Jerry Award for Physical Endurance for her fantastic shiner received coutesy of her collision with Huw during the Gloucester home game, and Mike won Big Daddy of the Year award for the arrival of baby Boswell.  We also acknowledged our Korf Widows... Vic, Luke, Dan and Peter who suffer at the hands of their partners' devotion to the sport of korfball but whose patience and tolerence was amply rewarded with bags of Haribo.      Coast Path Walk Musbury - Lyme Regis - Seaton,  March '09 --      Christmas Dinner '08  The traditional Yuletide bash was held at the City Gate, and featured a guest appearance by Secret Santa himself to dispense presents. Was that a Royal Mail sack he/she was carrying...?        Christmas Dinner '07 Café Rouge was the venue for the '07 dejeuner de noel --      Surfing at Croyde August bank holiday weekend '07 --    Topsham Ten   Aaaaarrrr!  Christmas Dinner '10  At Oddfellows, 18 December --    SWKA End of Season social The end of the 2009 - 10 season was celebrated after 'Super Saturday' in Bristol on 20 March. The teams re-convened in the evening at the Robin Hood pub for the traditional  beer and medals, and some excellent food. Members of Exeter 1 and Exeter 2 received runners-up medals in their respective leagues. Evie won most improved female and Tony was ref of the year.      Mel's Leaving Drinks   New and old members of the club gathered at the City Gate on 16 October '09 to wish Mel and Luke well in their move to Poole. Before heading to John Gandy's for last orders, Mel put on her beer goggles (literally), Tony spilt his pint (again) and Russell made a nice speech. Come back and see us soon, Mel.      Pub Quiz 25 September '09 saw another outing for Tony's Great Fact Hunt at the White Hart pub. Well done to 'The Right Side of the River' who knew more about '70s films than anyone else!    Hallowe'en / Guy Fawkes Party At Huw & Sheena's place Nov '08 --        Go Ape! In July '08 we swung from the branches at Haldon Hill's tree-top adventure. Death slides were slid, rickety bridges were traversed, scramble nets were impacted at alarming speed on the end of tarzan ropes. Some of us even got certificates signed by the Chief Gorilla to prove it!     End of Season Awards '08 The season was remembered at Bar Rendezvous in Southernhay, before being completely forgotten in the beer garden at Timepiece --    Christmas Dinner '06 A select few gathered at the Port Royal for some festive fun --
